About Homes of Hope
Homes of Hope Charitable Trust provides an innovative response to children in need of care and protection due to neglect and/or abuse. Formed in 2002, our first home opened in June 2003. Our unique model founded on Christian values has been successfully piloted in Tauranga Moana - where we have three homes and are now establishing homes in Auckland and Rotorua.
We are passionate about delivering excellent professional foster care services to siblings, preventing them from being separated whilst in care and ensuring stability of care for as long as they require it. We recognise the need for strong governance, organisational and financial management to be able to achieve our goals. It is important to ensure these children have every right and opportunity to become all they were created to be.
Our homes provide stable, consistent and on-going foster care and support to dependent children, offering respite and nurture amidst the storms of family chaos. The overall goal is to restore health and wholeness to the children so that they are able to take their place in society - confident, competent and fulfilled. Experience has taught us well - it is far less expensive to build a child than it is to repair an adult. Each home has dedicated house parents supported by a team of key staff, volunteers, related agencies and services. Restoration and transformation are keys to our care practice, with intentional developmental placement plans for each child. High accountability structures ensure safety and support for both adults and children.
"I have been impressed by what I have seen first-hand of Homes of Hope care of vulnerable children and the outcomes that are being achieved for them. Community responses like this are important to the fabric of our society and help to ensure a brighter future for us all. I would encourage your support." Tauranga Member of Parliament Simon Bridges
"Homes of Hope provide a vital respite to the children in our community who, for whatever reason, do not have a stable home and life. I wholeheartedly urge you to support Homes of Hope in their endeavour to raise funds so that they can continue their service for vulnerable children."
Tauranga Mayor, Stuart Crosby
"Homes of Hope have achieved excellent outcomes for vulnerable children and young people."
The Honourable Minister Paula Bennett
